While procedural things have changed here at Cedar House, as well as in town and on the mountain, you will notice how much has not changed. The crisp, clean mountain air, the soft crush of freshly fallen snow under your boots, the powerful energy of the mountain spirit, and the warm welcome from our town folks are still waiting for you to indulge.
As per our prior posts throughout this pandemic, the health and well-being of our guests, staff and the Truckee/Tahoe community, are our top priority. As Cedar House guests, please know that our community and local businesses rely on your cooperation to help mitigate the spread of Covid-19. Our promise to you is that your safety will continue to remain of utmost importance.
The Check-in Process: For your safety, we will only allow one check-in at a time. On the morning of arrival, you will receive a Welcome text message. When you arrive, please drive under the porte-cochere at our lobby entrance. Please text or call us that you have arrived, and we will instruct you when you can come inside for check-in. It is winter and it will be warmer to wait in your car until you are instructed to come inside. There could be a line of vehicles waiting to check-in, but the wait time will not be long. Just pull in behind the vehicle waiting in line. In most cases, there will be no wait.
When you arrive: Please plan on wearing a facemask or face covering. Face coverings are required inside all public spaces as well as on all sidewalks and outdoor areas on the property. If you show any symptoms of illness, we will not be able to check you in. If you are feeling unwell prior to your arrival, please call us and we can reschedule your reservation.
During your stay. For your safety and to meet current COVID guidelines, we have closed all gathering areas on our property. The lobby is open only for check-in or check-out services. Indoor dining has been temporarily suspended until further notice. Our restaurant—Stella, and our lobby bar—Callaghan’s are available via takeout or room service. Guests can order online, over the phone, or via text. Please call the front desk for assistance. It is our pleasure to serve you. Food and drinks are delivered to your room or picked up directly from Stella if you are on the way out the door. To peruse both the breakfast and dinner menus, see here.
Daily housekeeping services will not be provided unless requested during your stay. For your well-being and the safety of our staff, once you take possession of your room, we do not enter unless you request service and give us permission. Use our texting program or call the front desk directly to request towels or any other needs. We will deliver items requested contactless in a basket to your front door.
Unfortunately, due to county COVID requirements, our popular hot tub must remain closed. Mixed household gatherings in hotel rooms are not allowed, as per Nevada County regulations. Here is everything you need to know about social gatherings.
These restrictions and protocols are necessary to keep both guests and staff safe. We know that these changes can be inconvenient. Please understand that we miss being able to open our lobby bar or Stella dining room to you, especially when connecting to one another is what we celebrate. To compensate, we are using both technology and creative ingenuity to ensure that you have a safe, comfortable, and relaxing stay. We all look forward to the day when we can once again hug with abandon, shake hands (versus constantly washing hands), mingle, and huddle closely, but until then, we have to work and manage this virus together. And we will prevail, together.
