    Dear Valued Guest,

    In this time of uncertainty with the progression of the COVID-19 outbreak, Cedar House Sport Hotel assures you that your safety and comfort remain our highest priority.

    The hotel is currently closed but will reopen on June 1st, 2020. In accordance with the requirements listed in Phase 2 of California Resilience Roadmap, the hotel can only accept reservations for Essential and Emergency workers, as well as travelers coming to our region for business reasons only. Please note that we will ask you for the purpose of your travel (Essential or Business) as required by the current County and State mandates. Reservations specifically for Leisure/Tourism are not permitted yet as defined in Phase 2. Leisure and Tourism will be permitted in Phase 3 of the California Resilience Roadmap. We will update this page as soon as we know when Leisure/Tourism travel is permitted again. We believe it will be soon.

    The Cedar House Sport Hotel is working hard to bring exceptional standards to a new level to assure guests that they and our staff are safe and cared for when visiting Cedar House and the Truckee/Tahoe region. In accordance with CDC recommendations and our local health jurisdictions, Cedar House is implementing safety measures including requiring staff to wear face coverings in public spaces and requesting that guests do so as well.  Other changes to services to meet COVID compliance measures are:

    • We can no longer provide a complimentary breakfast buffet. Buffets are against all health code standards. We will be shifting to a regular breakfast service with menu options for purchase. Reservations with confirmations made prior to this change that included breakfast will still be honored via a voucher. All reservations made after May 15th, 2020 will not include breakfast. The new breakfast menu is delightful and will have a take-out option to enjoy it in your room if you choose.

     

    • To adhere to physical distancing guidelines, the lobby will be closed for all gatherings. Any orders for espresso or a drink from the bar will be made from our outdoor bar window.

     

    • To ensure a COVID safe guest-room environment, you will notice changes. Extra pillows have been removed from the bed. Beds are simplified with our European duvet comforter and one pillow. If you wish to have additional pillows, simply ask and we will be happy to accommodate. All unnecessary paper products will be removed from the room such as reading materials, additional rolls of toilet paper, extra tissue boxes and writing pads. There will be sufficient amenities for the duration of your stay, and if more is needed, we will bring whatever items you request immediately. If this makes you feel more comfortable, we recommend bringing your own personal pillow and other amenities that you may need.

     

    • Stay over service has been suspended to protect our team members and guests.

     

    • Extra amenities such as extra towels will be delivered upon request and left at your door.

     

    • All self served coffee stations will be discontinued. Breakfast purchase will include complimentary coffee, and we will provide complimentary coffee from our outdoor lobby bar window when requested. Espresso drinks are available for purchase.

     

    • Rooms will have a COVID amenity kit of masks and gloves, as well as a disinfectant spray bottle and wipes.

     

    • Contactless check in as well as communication through our texting system will be standard procedure to continually manage guest safety.

     

    • Outdoor Hot Tub will be closed until Phase 3 and clearance from local health authorities. Once open, to control physical distancing protocol, access will be limited to 1 person, or to only those that are cohabitating in the same room. To access the hot tub, please notify the front desk to open the locked gate.

    Please note that our employees have been trained on the guidelines provided by the CDC and local health authorities. They are ready to render assistance to any guest that may feel unwell. We conduct daily meetings with our employees to review any relevant situation. The Cedar House Sport Hotel is in constant communication with local and statewide health and travel authorities to keep our guests and employees updated and to advise them on appropriate measures to observe.

    We will welcome our guests to the Cedar House Sport Hotel with the same warmth and hospitality we have always done. While the COVID-19 outbreak is a precipitously changing situation, we are committed to keeping you informed and to care for you as a valued Cedar House guest.
