WHAT TO EXPECT:

Lassen Volcanic National Park is one of the best kept secrets of the National Park system.  The centerpiece of the Park is Lassen Peak, the largest plug dome volcano in the world and the southern-most volcano in the Cascade Range.

The first three days of the trip we will be exploring the exciting scenery in Lassen while visiting Bumpass Hell, Cold Boiling Lake, Mt. Harkness and Juniper Lake.  After our fantastic days in the Lassen, we will head north to another jewel of the US, Crater Lake National Park and the historic Crater Lake Lodge.  Along the way, we will stop by MacArthur Burney State Park to visit Burney Falls, a waterfall so beautiful Theodore Roosevelt dubbed it the 8th wonder of the world.

Crater Lake is the deepest lake in North America and offers dramatic and unique vistas.  For the next day and a half we will explore some of the 90 miles of trails in the Park, enjoying views of the extraordinary lake and surrounding country.
