Pacific Crest Heli-Guide

Have you ever dreamed of getting dropped off by a helicopter on top of a mountain peak to get those big open fresh powder turns you only see in Alaska or in your favorite Warren Miller movie? Has it always been a dream or desire for you, but Alaska is just too far of a trip and you don’t have the budget? Well, look no further! Helicopter Skiing and Snowboarding is now available here in North Lake Tahoe.

Pacific Crest Snowcats is now offering heli-guided trips into the Tahoe backcountry.

Pacific Crest Heli-Guides has access to over 100,000 acres of remote ski terrain along the Sierra Crest. To give you an idea of how much terrain that really is, all of the 14 ski resorts surrounding Lake Tahoe together only have 25,000 skiable acres.

The terrain accessed via helicopter will be a variety of open bowls, perfectly spaced trees, steep chutes and technical couloirs geared towards the advanced to expert skier or snowboarder. The north-facing aspects will hold their snow days after a storm while the south-facing aspects will provide for ideal corn conditions in the Spring.

The Pacific Crest Heli-Guides will be operating out of the Truckee-Tahoe Airport located just down the street from The Cedar House Sport Hotel. The Pacific Crest Heli-Guides are all veteran backcountry skiers and riders, with the experience and knowledge to ensure that you have a safe and fun trip. Groups are limited to 4 or 5 people per Helicopter depending on tour and weight of guest.
