SUMMER SEASON ADVENTURES!

Hiking:

With the veil being lifted on winter, the Sierra Nevada’s offer a stunning and unique canvas of hiking trails. Panoramic views of lakes, mountain tops, and gorgeous wilderness resides – and The Cedar House will open your door to Tahoe exploration. With our in-house touring company, Tahoe Trips and Trails, we will be offering a Sierra Hiking Series. Each Saturday, beginning in mid-June, a popular Sierra Hike will be provided by one of our professional guides; transportation and an Endurance Lunch from Stella’s kitchen included. Price ranges from $65.00 to $85.00 per person (guide gratuity not included). Our Adventure Tour page will provide more details.

Self-Guided Hikes:

The Cedar House Sport Hotel can provide trail maps and hiking suggestions for those that want to explore the high-country on their own. Ask for an Endurance Lunch to accompany you. We’ve walked many of these trails ourselves, so we can provide you with any pertinent information you may need. Experience unforgettable terrain, only accessible by foot.

Biking:

Whether it’s a leisurely roll along the Truckee River, an off-road journey amidst the gorgeous Tahoe backdrop, or a stunning ride around the pristine waters of the lake, The Cedar House Sport Hotel can put the wheels on your ideal biking adventure. Tahoe Trips and Trails, now offered through The Cedar House, can help make the arrangements for guided and self-guided trips. Bring your bike or rent it – we can provide the necessary information on bike trails of any difficulty or terrain. The Cedar House Picnic Lunch is also optimal for summer bike trips. Be sure to ask for one!

Kayaking:

There is no better way to experience the majesty of Lake Tahoe than on a Kayak. The Cedar House Sport Hotel, and its newest addition – Tahoe Trips and Trails, offers a full range of Kayaking needs; from rental equipment to full Lake Tahoe tours. Explore Emerald Bay, Sand Harbor, Kings Beach and the Historic West Shore. We’ll provide sunset tours, as well as tours exploring historic properties, such as the Thunderbird Lodge. Inquire about these tours – we are happy to make all the arrangements.

River Rafting:

The Cedar House Sport Hotel works with several River outfitters to help you plan out the perfect rafting adventure. Experience the excitement of Lake Tahoe from the River. There are river rafting trips for all ages, sizes and budgets. Most guided trips with hotel pick up begin around $70.00 per person.

Self guided raft trips on the Truckee River. Enjoy a leisurely float from Tahoe City down a 5 mile stretch of the Truckee River to the River Ranch Pond, where a fantastic grilled lunch awaits you. Please inquire about details regarding this fun family float down the Truckee River.

Sailing:

Enjoy the breathtaking beauty of Lake Tahoe aboard a sailing yacht. Tahoe Sailing Charters, www.tahoesail.com, provides roomy comfort with high performance sailing. From May through October, Tahoe Sailing offers a variety of scenic two hour afternoon cruises as well as romantic sunset sails.

Fly Fishing:

The Truckee River and its tributaries provide our region with excellent fishing opportunities for the fly angler. The Cedar House Sport Hotel can hook you up with excellent fishing guides – please visit www.flyfishingtruckee-tahoe.com.

Although some lakes and streams are year round – the season for most guided tours and clinics begin the end of April to mid November.

Soar Truckee:

For a unique experience, come to Soar Truckee, www.soartruckee.com, and fly as silently as an eagle high above the Sierra Nevada Mountains. A professional certified glider pilot will introduce you to the joys of soaring.
