Rock Climbing/Mountain Biking with North American Ski Training Center
NEW! The North American Ski Training Center, based here in the winter months for their amazing ski adventures, offers rock climbing and mountain biking day and multi-day trips all summer. Led by certified, knowledgeable, and super fun guides, you will enjoy your days in Tahoe scaling a granite rock (on a rope of course!) or pedaling our magical meadows!
Hiking:
The Cedar House Sport Hotel can arrange guided hiking trips with our partnered outdoor adventure guides. Guided Hikes are available at all levels of difficulty. 4-6 Person minimum. All hikes offer amazing vistas of Lake Tahoe or Donner Lake. Experience Tahoe’s high country that can only be accessed by foot.
Self Guided Hikes:
The Cedar House Sport Hotel can provide trail maps and hiking suggestions for those that want to explore the high country on their own. Ask for the Cedar House Lunch Fanny Pack - $20.00 includes fanny pack with a delightful high mountain lunch and water bottle. You will find many uses for this fanny pack when you return back home. Please request Fanny Pack Lunch when making your lodging reservations.
Biking:
Whether it is a ride along the Truckee River on a bike path – or on a wide trail in the meadow on an off-road mountain bike – The Cedar House Sport Hotel can help make the arrangements for guided (with North American Ski Training Center or Tahoe Trips and Trails) and self-guided trips. Bring your bike or rent it – we can provide information from easy bike path rides to advance off road single track trails. The Cedar House Lunch Fanny Pack is also perfect for summer bike trips. Be sure to ask for one!
River Rafting:
The Cedar House Sport Hotel works with several River outfitters to help you plan out the perfect rafting adventure. Experience the excitement of Lake Tahoe from the River. There are river rafting trips for all ages, sizes and budgets. Most guided trips with hotel pick up begin around $70.00 per person.
Self guided raft trips on the Truckee River. Enjoy a leisurely float from Tahoe City down a 5 mile stretch of the Truckee River to the River Ranch Pond, where a fantastic grilled lunch awaits you. Please inquire about details regarding this fun family float down the Truckee River.
Kayaking:
There is no better way to experience the majesty of Lake Tahoe than on a Kayak. The Cedar House Sport Hotel works with many outfitters – from kayak rentals to full Lake Tahoe Kayak Tours. Explore Emerald Bay, Sand Harbor, Kings Beach and the Historic West Shore. Our outfitters offer sunset tours, as well as tours exploring historic properties such as the Thunderbird Lodge. Inquire about these tours – we are happy to make all the arrangements. Tours start around $85.00 and up per person.
Sailing:
Enjoy the breathtaking beauty of Lake Tahoe aboard a sailing yacht. Tahoe Sailing Charters, www.tahoesail.com, provides roomy comfort with high performance sailing. From May through October, Tahoe Sailing offers a variety of scenic two hour afternoon cruises as well as romantic sunset sails.
Fly Fishing:
The Truckee River and its tributaries provide our region with excellent fishing opportunities for the fly angler. The Cedar House Sport Hotel can hook you up with excellent fishing guides – please visit www.flyfishingtruckee-tahoe.com.
Although some lakes and streams are year round – the season for most guided tours and clinics begin the end of April to mid November.
Soar Truckee:
